Akkodis is seeking an Automotive Plant Trainer/Instructor for a full time position on our dedicated team near the Flat Rock, MI area with responsibilities to present automotive technical material to support new vehicle model and curriculum training at the Ford assembly plants. This will include training, coaching, and supporting End-Of-Line Ford/UAW personnel on vehicle diagnostics and repair activities at the plant. Qualified candidates will possess strong professional experience with Ford electrical vehicle diagnostics as an automotive technician or mechanic. ASE certifications are recommend though not required as professional experience may suffice.

Pay Range: Up to $93,000/yr (salary commensurate based on experience and education levels).

Automotive Plant Trainer/Instructor job responsibilities include:

• Train EOL plant employees on proper vehicle diagnostics and troubleshooting
• Develops or updates technical training information based on the end user needs, client specifications/expectations and the current product information. This could be to support new vehicle model systems or updates to standard curriculum courses.
• Researches product information to complete needs assessment for training development.
• Consults with various client contacts (external) and subject matter experts (internal and external) to gather product specific information.
• High level of proficiency in developing technical training courses in multiple authoring environments based on the level of equity assigned.
• Develops technical information using client supplied resources, such subject matter experts, product teardowns and engineering schematics. Work directly with customer on vehicle and to create vehicle bugs.
• Ability to work on diverse tasks and projects with minimal guidance.
• Participates in meetings with clients and co-workers.
• Advises Project Manager/Team Lead of project status and potential issues.
• Completes various additional assignments as directed by Project Manager/Team Lead.
• Work directly with customer contacts to guide them through problem resolution.
• Assess the diagnostic capabilities of automotive technicians.
• Assess tooling needs of the automotive technician.
• Train automotive technicians on proper diagnostic and repair techniques.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma required. Engineering Degree helpful.
• State or ASE certifications preferred.
• Greater than 2+ years of experience diagnosing electrical and electronic issues on vehicles as a mechanic / automotive technician.
• Must have thorough knowledge of automotive systems, including, but not limited to electrical, engine controls, transmission controls, electronic stability control systems, antilock brake systems and network communications.
• Knowledge of automotive systems theory, in any or all of the following areas: Electronic and electrical fundamentals. Mechanical procedures. Modern automotive systems. Automatic transmissions systems. Modern light truck diesel applications preferred.
• Experience developing using Microsoft PowerPoint and familiarity with XML.
• Ability to read, comprehend and follow complicated verbal and written communication (i.e. client communications, engineering draft material, electronic module design specifications and sub-system schematics).
• Ability to communicate written and verbal ideas in a clear, concise manner.
• Ability to utilize creative problem resolution skills to handle client related concerns.
