We are seeking a dynamic individual to join our book publishing imprint, 83 Press, as the Director of Business Development. This role is pivotal in expanding our reach, forming strategic partnerships, and building a robust pipeline of compelling book projects.
Responsibilities:
Pipeline Development & Relationship Management:
· Build and nurture a robust pipeline for book projects, collaborating with authors, content creators, literary agents, and strategic partners.
· Identify emerging publishing trends and market opportunities to strategically shape our book portfolio.
· Cultivate lasting relationships with clients, ensuring satisfaction, loyalty, and continued collaboration.
Product and Service Expansion:
· Collaborate with internal teams to identify and develop publishing services that align with industry demands and enrich our book project pipeline.
· Introduce innovative ideas to clients that enhance their brands and reflect current trends in the publishing world.
Revenue Generation:
· Develop and execute strategies to contribute to the growth and diversification of 83 Press’s book publishing revenue streams.
· Identify new revenue opportunities, expanding the reach of 83 Press's book imprints and offerings.
Collaboration with Internal Teams:
· Work closely with editorial, marketing, and production teams to ensure the smooth execution of business development initiatives and successful book project delivery.
· Provide insights to inform product development and marketing strategies, ensuring alignment with market trends.
Skills and Qualifications:
· Experience: Five or more years in a business development role, with a preference for experience in the book publishing or content industries.
· Location: Preference for candidates located at our headquarters in Birmingham, AL, but remote candidates in AL, GA, FL, LA, OH, TN, and WV will be considered.
· Pipeline Management: Proven ability to strategically build and manage a robust sales B2B2C pipeline.
· Relationship Building: Demonstrated success in partnership development, and building lasting client relationships.
· Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey the value of publishing services.
· Results-Driven: A results-oriented mindset with a strong track record of achieving and exceeding goals.
· Adaptability: Ability to adapt strategies to the changing landscape of the publishing industry, staying informed about market trends and evolving needs.
