Job Description About the Internship This 12-week summer internship offers hands-on experience in digital product development and technical consulting. You'll work with cutting-edge web technologies on real-world projects, contributing to the success of our cloud-based platform.
We are looking for a proactive and curious intern to join our Digital team in Exton, PA. This is a hybrid role and requires in-office presence two days a week (Tuesday/Thursday).
What You'll Do - Learn Guidewire’s Digital products and contribute to product implementation and development projects.
- Collaborate with experienced engineers to design, implement, and test new features for web applications.
- Assist in building intuitive and responsive user interfaces using Guidewire Jutro, our design system based on React.
- Work with cross-functional teams including UX Designers, Business Analysts, and InsuranceSuite implementation teams.
- Advocate for customers to leverage our out-of-the-box capabilities to enable faster delivery and easier upgrades.
Required Qualifications: - In the final year or recently completed a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Foundational knowledge of web development, including experience with HTML, CSS, SASS, and JavaScript.
- Familiarity with the React framework.
- Understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts.
- Awareness of responsive design principles and web accessibility standards.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to learn and a proactive approach to challenges.
Preferred Qualifications: - Prior experience with React development through coursework, projects, or internships.
- Understanding of React state management.
- Experience using Git or other version control systems.
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs and backend integrations.
- Basic knowledge of build tools and package managers (e.g., Webpack, npm
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $50,000 - $96,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
