Job Description

General Manager – High Volume Distribution

Our client is a global aviation organization that provides air carriers and airports with a wide range of aircraft, passenger and security services to ensure the safe and reliable operation of their aircraft and comfort of their passengers. Our team is focused on quality, safety, and providing a positive customer experience through all services offered.

This position involves strategic planning and coordination across various departments, including 3PL logistics, warehouse management, inventory control, and distribution services, to ensure efficient and safe cargo operations. You will be responsible for liaising with clients, carriers, regulatory bodies, and government agencies to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations. In addition, you will focus on financial management, business development, and customer satisfaction, working to enhance the facility's reputation and profitability while optimizing the supply chain and logistics operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee all operational aspects of the company, including ground handling, customer service, and maintenance
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance operational efficiency and customer satisfaction
  • Manage and lead a diverse team of department heads and supervisors
  • Monitor operational performance against key performance indicators and objectives
  • Liaise with airlines, airport authorities, and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance and effective collaboration
  • Drive business growth through innovative service offerings and strategic partnerships
  • Oversee financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
  • Ensure adherence to industry regulations and safety standards across all operations
  • Handle crisis management and emergency response planning
  • Foster a company culture focused on safety, quality service, and continuous improvement
  • Manage customer relations and address escalated customer service issues
  • Direct human resources activities, including recruitment, training, and performance management
  • Stay informed of industry trends, advancements, and competitive landscape
  • Represent the company in industry events, conferences, and public forums
  • Lead initiatives to enhance sustainability and environmental responsibility in operations
  • May be assigned other duties as required

SKILLS

  • Expertise in leadership development through demonstrating the ability to grow, develop, and lead diverse teams
  • Ability to communicate across multiple groups including company leadership, peers, direct reports, customers, and cross-functional departments
  • Application of work standards, including non-negotiable safety and security protocols.
  • Understanding, communicating, and enforcing the work standards across all levels of the team, while taking ownership for results
  • Identify and articulate root causes and developing fixes/mitigation steps
  • Demonstrating the ability to lead people, both individuals and groups, to drive positive performance
  • Managing a diverse group of people, showing the ability to utilize various communication techniques to motivate and influence individuals and teams

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 6+ years of experience in Operations leadership within a high volume distribution environment
  • Proven track record in strategic planning, financial management, and team leadership
  • Eligible to work in the United States
  • Must have a valid state-issued driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
  • Intermediate/Highly proficient Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language, to include documents
  • Eligibility to acquire needed credentials and clearances (FAA, TSA, Port Authority, U.S. Customs and U.S. Postal- as applicable)
  • Must be flexible to work extended hours on occasion to support our field operations
