Job Description

Position Title: OBGYN Physician

Location: Granville Primary Care & OBGYN

Department: Obstetrics and Gynecology

Position Summary:

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled OBGYN physician to provide comprehensive care for women, focusing on both routine and specialized reproductive health. The role involves delivering babies, managing pregnancies, performing gynecological surgeries, and offering counseling and support to women at various stages of life. The OBGYN will provide patient-centered care, from preventive services to the management of complex gynecological and obstetric conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

Patient Care:

  • Conduct routine and specialized exams to assess and manage women’s reproductive health.
  • Manage pregnancies through prenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum care, ensuring optimal outcomes for both mother and baby.
  • Diagnose and treat a range of gynecological conditions such as menstrual disorders, infertility, pelvic pain, and endometriosis.
  • Develop and implement personalized treatment plans, which may include medications, lifestyle changes, and surgical interventions.

Surgical Procedures:

  • Perform gynecological surgeries, including hysterectomies, laparoscopies, and other minimally invasive procedures.
  • Conduct vaginal and cesarean deliveries, managing complications when necessary.
  • Provide postoperative care and monitor for surgical complications.

Patient Counseling & Education:

  • Educate patients on sexual and reproductive health, contraception, menopause, and preventive health care.
  • Offer emotional support and counseling to patients and their families, addressing concerns and ensuring informed decision-making.

Collaboration & Coordination:

  • Work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including nurses, midwives, and specialists, to provide holistic, integrated care.
  • Coordinate patient care with hospital departments and healthcare professionals for complex cases.
  • Maintain accurate, confidential patient records and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations.

Professional Development:

  • Stay current with medical research, advancements, and best practices in obstetrics and gynecology.
  • Participate in continuing education, workshops, and medical conferences.
  • Engage in professional organizations and contribute to hospital committees.

Administrative Duties:

  • Ensure compliance with healthcare policies, regulations, and standards.
  • Oversee patient scheduling and administrative tasks related to patient care.
  • Handle billing, documentation, and coding for procedures and treatments.

Qualifications:

  • Education: MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
  • Licensure: Valid North Carolina medical license.
  • Board Certification: Board Certified or Board Eligible by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG).
  • Other Certifications: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required.
  • Experience: Prior experience in obstetrics and gynecology preferred, particularly in both clinical and surgical settings.

Working Conditions:

  • Environment: Clinic and hospital settings.
  • Hours:

Clinic Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Rotating Hospital Call

  • Physical Demands: Ability to perform surgical procedures, deliver babies, and work extended hours when required.
