Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Manager to oversee payroll operations across two dynamic sister companies. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing using  UKG (Ultimate Kronos Group) Ready and will play a key part in maintaining compliance, improving systems, and providing excellent support to employees and leadership across both organizations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end payroll processing on a  bi-weekly and  weekly basis (as required) for both companies using  UKG Ready .
  • Process payroll for a diverse employee base, including hourly temps and internal staff.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local wage and hour laws.
  • Maintain accurate payroll records and documentation for auditing and reporting purposes.
  • Partner with HR and Accounting to ensure accuracy in employee data, PTO tracking, benefits deductions, and payroll journal entries.
  • Coordinate and reconcile timekeeping data, including approvals and corrections.
  • Review and confirm year-end processes including W-2 preparation, reporting, and filing that are handled by UKG.
  • Stay up-to-date on payroll best practices, tax regulations, and compliance issues.
  • Serve as the point of contact for all payroll-related inquiries and troubleshoot issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Assist in system upgrades, integrations, and process improvements within  UKG to enhance payroll efficiency.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of payroll management experience, preferably with multi-entity or multi-industry exposure.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state payroll regulations and labor laws.
  • Hands-on experience with  UKG (formerly UltiPro/Kronos)is preferred.
  • Experience managing payroll in both  staffing and  manufacturing environments is preferred.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy with strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with integrity.
  • Proficiency in Excel and payroll reporting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
