Job Description

About Pantheon Resources

At Pantheon Resources, you have the opportunity to be part of a dynamic and growing oil and gas exploration and production company. With a commitment to responsible energy development, strong focus on advanced technology, sustainability, and innovation, Pantheon is a great place to advance your career through meaningful work. Our employees’ entrepreneurial spirit, desire to succeed, and executive leadership drive our business. As we continue to expand, we are looking for talented individuals to join our team and contribute to our growth.

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated Reservoir Engineer for our Houston, Texas office to support our oil and gas development project with a particular focus on exploration of Alaska’s North Slope. The ideal candidate must have experience identifying and quantifying oil and gas target zones and be proficient in developing and running economic models to evaluate reservoir performance. Reporting to the Technical Director, the successful candidate will perform a wide range of reservoir engineering functions and contribute to Pantheon Resources’ mission of delivering outstanding shareholder returns through operational excellence and sustainable growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Utilize advanced reservoir engineering methods, including unconventional techniques, to identify and quantify oil and gas target zones.
  • Develop and run economic models to evaluate reservoir performance, support development planning, and assess the financial viability of drilling and production opportunities.
  • Integrate pressure transient analysis, rate transient analysis, material balance, decline curve analysis, and volumetric assessments for comprehensive reservoir evaluation.
  • Design and optimize full-field development plans, accounting for operational constraints such as simultaneous operations, surface limitations, lift mechanisms, and product takeaway capacity.
  • Evaluate risk and uncertainty in unconventional reservoirs, including the impact of depletion, inter-well and inter-bench spacing, and hydraulic fracturing design on overall recovery and asset value.
  • Develop and calibrate dynamic reservoir simulation models to support forecasting, scenario planning, and uncertainty quantification.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize completion, stimulation, and artificial lift designs.
  • Apply probabilistic forecasting techniques to existing and future wells for use in appraisal programs, decision trees, and economic evaluations.
  • Participate in the planning and execution of drilling programs in coordination with geoscience and operations teams.
  • Analyze production, injection, and pressure data to monitor reservoir performance and identify optimization opportunities.
  • Generate and interpret structural, production, isobaric, and isopach maps to support field development planning.
  • Compile and synthesize historical field data to create comprehensive development histories and forward-looking plans.
  • Collaborate closely with geologists and operations engineers to advance rate and reserve-add projects to execution-ready status.
  • Formulate and update depletion strategies and long-term development plans.
  • Provide thorough technical documentation and justification for reserve booking updates.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering or a related discipline; minimum of 10 years of experience in reservoir engineering with an E&P company.
  • Strong foundation in reservoir engineering principles, including pressure transient analysis, decline curve analysis, material balance, and reservoir simulation.
  • Proven track record in reservoir management, performance analysis, and both classical and unconventional reservoir evaluation techniques.
  • Demonstrated experience in full-field development planning under operational constraints and infrastructure limitations.
  • Skilled in assessing risk and uncertainty in unconventional reservoirs, with emphasis on depletion effects, well spacing, and fracture design optimization.
  • Capable of conducting comprehensive reservoir studies and delivering actionable technical insights.
