Job Summary: The Sr. Manager-Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) is based in the Carlsbad office and reports directly to the Director of Finance. This position is responsible for the timely and accurate reporting and analysis of all financial results and forecasts, completion and analysis of the quarterly and annual operating Budget, Capital Expenditure and commercial planning. Additional responsibilities include assisting with annual audit activities, tax compliance and cost accounting related activities, and all dashboard and Company metrics/KPI’s. The Sr Manager-FP&A liaises with all levels of management and personnel within the organization.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare the monthly reporting package of the company’s financial performance versus budget and forecast including updating the quarterly and annual budget assumptions.
• Perform analysis of actual results versus plan and forecast; prepare variance reporting.
• Manage quarterly inventory counts with manufacturing teams.
• Manage and oversee the quarterly and annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning processes.
• Develop and maintain complex financial models to support decision-making across the organization.
• Analyze financial data to identify trends, risks and opportunities for growth.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of financial plans with strategic objectives.
• Provide on-site analysis/tracking of all commercial inventory transactions, approvals, changes in estimates including forecasted costs vs actual expenditures
• Analysis and reporting of all current capital expenditures, including variance analyses vs. plan and forecast.
• Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Fishbowl inventory system and processes.
• Ensure compliance with Company accounting controls.
• Drive improvements in financial processes, systems, and reporting capabilities to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications: (Education & Skills/Expertise)

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
• 5+ years of experience in financial planning and analysis; experience in medical device manufacturing a plus.
• Expert financial modeling and analytical skills.
• Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office products or equivalent, primarily in Excel, including pivot tables, lookups and advanced excel formulas
• Quickbooks and Fishbowl knowledge highly preferred
• Ability to use multiple software packages that support the financial system; knowledge of Fishbowl or any inventory management software a plus
• In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, financial statement analysis, and management reporting.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
• Works well in a fast-pace environment.
• Strong experience in cost accounting, G/L accounting systems; knowledge with catheter manufacturing a plus.
• Strong attention to detail, problem-solving abilities and a results-driven mindset.

Desired Skills:

• Prior experience in a clinical or commercial stage medical device startup company a plus.
• Prior experience in catheter manufacturing a plus.
