Job Description

The Sr Director of Social & Influencer will be a key driver in revitalizing the Catalyst brands, using social media as the spearhead for a larger brand turnaround. This role will lead the charge in creating a groundswell of positive consumer sentiment and cultural relevance that fuels a new era of growth. Through brilliant, platform-specific content and strategic influencer partnerships, this role will cultivate organic excitement and engagement that can be amplified across paid media channels. In partnership with the CMO and other key marketing leaders, this role will be responsible for crafting a bold vision that leverages social media as both a brand-building tool and a critical driver of business results.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Evolve and build the social media strategy to fuel brand transformation, positioning Catalyst as a surprisingly exciting destination by crafting content that sparks organic engagement and drives positive consumer sentiment.
  • Create a groundswell of momentum through organic social, building emotional connections with consumers that can be scaled across paid media, e-commerce, and in-store experiences.
  • Oversee influencer strategy and management, identifying, partnering with and managing micro and macro influential voices who can bes share our new brand approach, strengthen brand credibility, and drive consumer advocacy that supports both earned and paid channels.
  • Develop a holistic content model that integrates with digital, social, and offline touchpoints, ensuring a seamless brand experience across all platforms (social, email, TV, print, in-store).
  • Partner with internal teams and external agencies to execute innovative, buzz-worthy campaigns that resonate with both existing and new audiences, transforming consumer perceptions.
  • Drive collaboration between social, media, and paid teams to ensure content produced organically can be leveraged effectively across paid channels for maximum reach and impact.
  • Analyze performance data to refine social media and influencer campaigns, continually optimizing strategies to increase brand equity, engagement, and path-to-purchase.
  • Play a key role in surfacing and driving action around key insights sourced from social monitoring
  • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing social media and content team, cultivating a culture of creativity, innovation, and results-driven thinking.

Core Competencies & Accomplishments:

  • Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in Marketing; MBA preferred.
  • 15+ years of progressive business experience in content, digital, social practices for big brand from both agency and client side, with preference for experience in fashion/retail.
  • Strong expertise in fashion/editorial content development and execution
  • Accomplished successes in managing digital experience in web, mobile and integrated marketing. Expertise in emerging technologies –mobile, tablet, social media, and e commerce.
  • Strong understanding and expertise in current social platforms.
  • Passion for cultural trends, consumer behaviors and innovation.
  • Strong leadership skills and experience working with C-level executives with the ability to influence, work collaboratively, and gain consensus across a large organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to implement programs through effective use of communication skills in formal and informal settings.
  • Direct management experience and experience in building teams and leading/coaching/mentoring direct reports.
