Akkodis is seeking a Test Technician for a 6+ months Contract position with a client located in Gaylord, MI

Pay Range: $37/hr. - $39/hr. (The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.)

Job Description:

The Natural Gas Membrane Equipment Operator is responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining membrane equipment used for testing natural gas membrane elements. This role involves conducting various tests, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards, and troubleshooting equipment as needed. The operator will play a key role in optimizing the performance of membrane systems and ensuring their reliability and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities: Provide safe operation of unit to test membrane filter elements

Equipment Operation: Operate membrane testing equipment, including but not limited to, gas permeation testers and pressure decay systems, Gas Chromatograph analytical equipment. Monitor the performance and efficiency of equipment during testing and identify any operational issues.

Testing and Performance Evaluation: Conduct rigorous tests of membrane elements to evaluate their performance under controlled conditions, including flow testing, performance testing and pressure testing . Analyze test results and ensure compliance with test specifications. Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Perform routine maintenance and repairs on membrane testing equipment to ensure optimal performance. Troubleshoot and resolve equipment malfunctions in a timely manner to minimize downtime.

Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of test results, equipment performance, and maintenance activities. Prepare detailed reports to summarize findings and present data to management and engineering teams.

Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment. Participate in safety training and promote safety awareness among team members. No smoking on site.

Collaboration: Work closely with site team to make sure all testing is compliant with daily operations Assist in the development of testing protocols and procedures.

Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in a related field is preferred. Prior experience operating and maintaining industrial equipment, preferably in the natural gas or petrochemical industry. Understanding of membrane technology and gas separation principles is a plus. Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. Ability to collect data and ensure accuracy. Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills. Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Working Conditions: The operator will be required to work in a field setting with exposure to natural gas and chemicals. The equipment is inside but no heat or A/C. Safety systems with alarms are in place. The test site is remote and has limited facilities, it does have an office with heat and A/C.

Ability to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 45 lbs.

Must be willing to work flexible hours, including overtime as needed.
