The Chopin Law Firm is an award-winning, high-volume personal injury firm located in New Orleans, LA. Our legal team has decades of experience defending personal injury cases, which allows us to effectively advocate for our clients' rights and tailor legal solutions to meet their individual needs and circumstances. In addition to personal injury, our clients also turn to us for assistance with property damage and insurance claims, workers’ compensation, business and commercial litigation, and business disruption claims.

General Overview:

We are looking for a highly motivated Workers’ Comp Paralegal to join our exceptional team. With 12 attorneys in our office, we are passionate and enjoy what we do. Our office environment is different from other law firms; we are not formal or stuffy, we don’t bill hours, and we will not ask you to work nights, weekends, or holidays. However, we do expect you to work hard, just like the rest of our team.

The ideal Workers’ Comp Paralegal should be a skilled multitasker capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously. You must possess high attention to detail and the ability to carefully manage deadlines. Your responsibilities will include:

· Organize, analyze, and provide medical record reports to attorneys

· Follow Up and Document Medical Records

· Drafting Legal Documents

· Organizing and Coordinating Legal Proceedings

· Preparing Reports and Documents

· Performing administrative duties such as calendar management

· Organizing and maintaining documents in our electronic filing system

· Meeting with clients, attorneys, and other professionals as it relates to cases

· Conducting interviews with clients to collect facts

· Onboarding new clients

· Special projects and other assignments as requested

Skills and/or Experience:

Required:

· Ability to prioritize and handle competing demands in a high-volume, fast-paced workplace

· Proven ability to work independently

· Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse group of individuals including attorneys, clients, medical providers, insurance representatives, etc.

· Ability to anticipate the needs of the attorneys you are supporting

· Outstanding organizational, interpersonal, and administrative skills.

· Proven ability to communicate effectively on the phone and in writing.

Desirable:

· Workers’ Comp and/or Paralegal experience in a high-volume firm

· Knowledge of workers’ comp and/or medical terminology, medical records, and bills of lading

· Bilingual

Schedule & Compensation:

The Workers’ Comp Paralegal is a full-time position with benefits based at the Chopin Law Firm office in New Orleans, LA. The specific work schedule will be established in collaboration with the supported attorney(s) but will generally fall between 8 AM and 6 PM CST.

The pay range for this role is $55,000 - $65,000 annually.
