Job Description

Insight Global is hiring an Automotive Prototype Build Technician for an autonomous vehicle manufacturing company. The Technicians will help to set up assembly areas, build prototype components and systems, install those systems on the autonomous trucks, configure and bring up new vehicles, and perform end of line testing and system debugging.

Responsibilities:

  • Install autonomous sensors to the trucks (Radars, Lidars, Cameras, Modems, computers, antennas, and other electronic components)
  • Install wiring harnesses on the trucks
  • Perform repairs according to work instructions and document results
  • Take the initiative in understanding, communicating, and resolving any vehicle issues and concerns
  • Maintain the machine shop, tools and inventory needed for the shop

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience building prototype or small and/or production run vehicles
  • A degree in manufacturing, mechanical, Mechatronics or equivalent field or technicians certificate plus relevant experience and training
  • ASE certifications
  • Excellent knowledge of mechanical and electronic components of vehicles
  • Proficient in diagnosing and repairing hydraulic systems, including pumps, valves, and actuators
  • AND/OR strong knowledge of automotive electrical systems, including wiring schematics, harnesses, and power distribution systems
  • A driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Proven experience as an auto mechanic
  • Must be able to lift and move 50 lbs frequently
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Compensation:

$30/hr to $45/hr.

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
