Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Bookkeeper with strong knowledge of property management accounting , Homeowners Associations (HOAs) , and Accounts Payable . This role plays a vital part in maintaining the financial integrity of our managed properties by ensuring accurate financial reporting, timely payments, and clear communication with vendors, tenants, and HOA boards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage daily bookkeeping tasks across multiple property and HOA accounts
• Process and record Accounts Payable, ensuring invoices are approved, coded, and paid on time
• Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and general ledger accounts
• Generate monthly financial reports for property owners and HOA boards
• Track HOA dues, assessments, and ensure accurate billing and collections
• Support budget preparation and annual audits for HOAs and properties
• Maintain vendor records, W-9s, and prepare 1099s as needed
• Assist with lease and contract tracking for income and expenses
• Collaborate closely with Property Managers to ensure financial accuracy
• Maintain up-to-date records in property management software systems (e.g., AppFolio, Yardi, Buildium, or similar)

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Bookkeeper, preferably within property management or HOA environments
• Solid understanding of accounting principles and AP processes
• Experience working with property management software (AppFolio, Yardi, Buildium, etc.)
• Strong Excel skills and comfort with cloud-based accounting tools
• Highly organized with excellent attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple accounts and deadlines efficiently
• Clear and professional communication skills, both written and verbal
