Title: EKG Technician

Location: Asheville, NC

Job Type: 13 Weeks Contract

Shifts: 12-hour shifts, from 06:30 AM to 07:00 PM.

Job Summary:

The EKG Technician will play an integral role in providing diagnostic care by performing EKG tests on patients in a hospital setting. This position is ideal for professionals with experience in electrocardiogram testing, patient care, and clinical documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform EKG tests on patients as ordered by physicians or medical staff.
• Prepare and position patients appropriately to ensure accurate test results.
• Operate and maintain EKG equipment, ensuring all machines are properly calibrated.
• Document and report test results into the hospital’s Cerner and MUSE systems.
• Provide patient care using the AIDET communication protocol to ensure patient comfort and safety.
• Follow all infection control and safety protocols to ensure a sterile and safe environment.
• Assist with the preparation and post-procedure care as needed.
• Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare staff to ensure proper care and patient outcomes.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.
• Assist with other duties as required within the Respiratory Services department.

Qualifications:

• Certification: BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
• Experience: Previous experience in EKG testing preferred, but not required.
• Skills: Knowledge of EKG equipment and ability to operate it correctly. Strong attention to detail and patient care skills.
