We are actively seeking a highly skilled Estimator who excels in producing comprehensive self-performing estimates, including all materials, labor, and manpower – encompassing MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) and beyond.

Position: Estimator (Self-Performing)

Location: Groton, CT

Salary: $125,000 to $150,000

Responsibilities:

• Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for commercial construction projects, covering all materials, labor, and manpower.
• Handle project budgets ranging from $5,000 to $1 million.
• Collaborate effectively with management, superintendents, and project managers to ensure project success.
• Oversee the estimating department and mentor/train direct reports.
• Review project plans and specifications to develop a clear understanding of the scope and requirements.
• Conduct site visits and assessments to gather necessary information for accurate estimations.
• Analyze historical data and apply cost estimation techniques to improve accuracy and efficiency.
• Participate in pre-bid meetings and presentations with clients and stakeholders.
• Maintain and update a database of cost estimates, project records, and related documents.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and company policies during the estimation process.

Qualifications:

• 7-20 years of commercial estimating experience.
• Bachelor's Degree in a construction-related field (preferred but not required).
• Proficiency with takeoff software such as BlueBeam, OnScreen, and Planswift.
• Strong skills in Microsoft Outlook, Project, Word, and Excel.
