[email protected] SUMMARY OF POSITION: The Interventional Radiology department is a fast-paced procedural care area for various acutely inpatient and outpatient pediatric and adult patients. The Interventional Radiology Nurse will rotate through the CVIR and IVR rooms and work strongly with technologists to provide care. This facility is a Comprehensive Stroke Center and IR cares for approximately 450 stroke patients annually. Critical thinking and comprehensive assessment skills are required to integrate patient status, establish priorities, provide treatment, and implement appropriate interventions. Essential duties include: Assessing patients prior to procedures, assisting in preparation for interventional procedures, administering conscious sedation, continuous hemodynamic monitoring during and after procedures, maintaining accurate detailed documentation in EMR systems. The Interventional Radiology Nurse integrates technical skills with nursing knowledge of currently licensed to meet the needs of highly complex patients. MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):
- Currently licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse by state of employment or holds a multistate RN license through the interstate Nurse Licensure Compact
- AHA BLS prior to end of orientation period
- RN with three (3) or more years critical care or emergency department experience required, must be within the last two (2) years.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION(S):
- Three years interventional Radiology experience
- Advanced life support experience including Moderate Sedation
- Hydration post procedure; administer cardiac life support certification preferred
- Previous experience administering Moderate Sedation.
- BSN preferred
